Windows 11の「Androidアプリがそのまま利用可能」という機能は、残念ながら正式リリース時には非搭載でしたが、いよいよ次期リリースに関連するビルドを確認できるベータチャンネルにおいてテストが始まっています。

新たにベータチャンネルでテストが始まったAndroidアプリは「Amazon Appstore」経由での扱い。MicrosoftはAmazon Appstoreの一部として新コンポーネント「Windows Subsystem for Android」を導入しています。「Windows Subsystem for Android」はIntel、AMD、QualcommなどのあらゆるWindows対応プロセッサで動作し、IntelとMicrosoftが共同開発したインテル・ブリッジ・テクノロジーを採用することで、Arm専用アプリをIntel・AMD製プロセッサで実行できるようにしています。
まずはテストということで電子書籍リーダーアプリの「Kindle」やゲームアプリ「Lords Mobile」「June’s Journey」「Coin Master」、教育アプリの「Khan Academy Kids」「Lego Duplo World」などの配信が行われています。
なお、「Amazon Appstore」経由で、Windows 11上でAndroidアプリを動かすためには以下の条件をクリアする必要があります。
・Windows 11が「Build 22000.xxx」のビルドであること
・BIOS/UEFIで仮想化が有効になっていること
・Microsoft Storeのバージョンが「22110.1402.6.0」以上であること
・PCの地域設定が「米国」になっていること
・Windows Insider programのベータチャンネルに参加していること
・米国設定のAmazonアカウントを所有していること
また、以下のような問題点・不具合がすでに判明しています。
・Microsoft Storeで「Amazon Appstore」のレビュー評価が表示されない
・広告ブロック機能を利用している場合に「Amazon Appstore」のログインに失敗することがある
・Amazon Appstoreでアクセシビリティのオプションがまだ有効ではない
